Six new analysts have just joined Carnall Farrar, which is double the intake of last year. It is an exciting time for our rapidly growing company. For the first time, the analysts undertook a week long induction to provide them with the skills they need to start on a consulting project. This included 3 days off site at the lovely Great Fosters hotel in Surrey, where they could get to know each other and current staff before joining their first projects the following week.
The week included a range of sessions, from hard skills (excel modelling, PowerPoint skills, problem solving) to knowledge based sessions (intro to the NHS and its structure) and softer skills such as MBTI personality types and team working. At the end of the week, each team had to present a mini project which had been designed to mirror a client scenario. The analysts were split into teams to evaluate a case and present their findings to mock ‘clients’ (Partners) at the end of the week.
The induction week was a success for all involved – and the all of the analysts have already made a great start on their projects.
