We were celebrating a night of success following the HSJ Partnership Awards, after taking home 2 national awards:
Consultancy of the Year
Best Provider of Healthcare Analytics
Consultancy of the Year 2018
We were recognised as the Consultancy of the Year 2018, for our work supporting the challenged Devon health economy, working to develop a path to sustainability. We achieved this through close and effective collaboration with local NHS organisations, targeting poor relationships and a lack of capability. Major successes within this work included reducing the community hospital bed requirement by ensuring that patients were discharged more rapidly after they are deemed fit to leave. The shift away from bed-based care towards community-based models of care has seen a greater number of patients return to independence, rather than deteriorating within a hospital bed. Additionally, our work also saw the implementation of initiatives to reduce attendances and admissions at A&E.
According to the HSJ partnership awards: “The judges stated that this organisation offered a very different approach to the traditional model of consultancy and more specifically a clear and bespoke approach to working with their client with a methodology that demonstrated that they care about collaboration.”
Best Provider of Healthcare Analytics
We won Best Provider of Healthcare Analytics as a result of our work in Devon. We worked to deliver analytics that provided the potential of an “invest to save” model in mental health services, which would improve outcomes, whilst also ultimately save money across the system. Our analysis included identifying unwarranted variation, as well as establishing the potential for great levels of early intervention and more care, closer to home. The judges said that “this is a novel, comprehensive, evidenced and mature product which gives mental health equivalence to physical health for quantifiable data to support service optimisation.”
