Creation of NHS Long Term Plan Summary
Re-Published 10 March 2020
On 7 January, the NHS long-term plan (formerly known as the 10-year plan) was published setting out key ambitions for the service over the next 10 years. Health and care leaders have come together to develop a Long Term Plan to make the NHS fit for the future, and to get the most value for patients out of every pound of taxpayers’ investment.
The plan builds on the policy platform laid out in the NHS five year forward view (Forward View) which articulated the need to integrate care to meet the needs of a changing population. It is a plan for the NHS, not the whole health and care system. While it seeks to strengthen the NHS’s contribution in areas such as prevention, population health and health inequalities, the plan is clear that real progress in these areas will also rely on action elsewhere.
We have gone through all the files to put together our NHS Long Term Plan summary. We have made the summary into a .pdf which you can download, share, print out all for free.
This summary sets out the key things you can expect to see and hear about over the next few months and years, as local NHS organisations aim to turn the ambitions in the plan into improvements in services in every part of England.
